This is the first edition of the FK Portfolio prize – a competition for young Latvian photographers. This contest presents a chance for local talents to introduce their work to a broad audience of photographers and professionals of the field. 8 – 10 finalists will have the opportunity to participate in public portfolio presentations. During this event they will show their work to the audience and an international jury that includes Lithuanian curator Ieva Meilutė-Svinkūnienė from Kaunas Photography Gallery, independent Estonian curator Indrek Grigor, photographer and Riga Stradiņš University Photography programme director Alnis Stakle, photographer and FK editor-in-chief Arnis Balčus. During the event the jury will comment upon the works, and will decide on a winner, who will be announced that evening and will receive valuable prizes from Sony and FK.
