Photographer Andrew Miksys (1969) is from Seattle, but has lived and worked in Lithuania for the past 15 years. His book DISKO, published in 2013, received significant international attention. The images were made in remote villages and towns of Lithuania at local teen discos, largely held in post–soviet Houses of Culture. The series tells the story of Lithuania's youth; the ruins of the past and the precarious future of the new generation. His works have been published in The New Yorker, Harpers, Hot Shoe, BuzzFeed, Vice, etc. He has been the recipient of grants from the Guggenheim Foundation, Fulbright, and the Aaron Siskind Foundation.

Miksys is currently developing his latest crowdfunded book Tulips about Belarus. In the talk, Myksis will present his works and talk about the process of independent book publishing, followed by a discussion with the audience.
